Ashkan Sepahvand launches a new Research Diary, populated by visions, incongruous translations and burning gestures. De novembre 2022 à février 2023, Qalqalah قلقلة s’associe au programme de Théorie du Tanzquartier de Vienne (Autriche), avec une série d’événements et d’ateliers intitulée Ne me raconte plus d’Histoire. Vendredi 3 novembre à 18h, nous serons en conversation (en ligne) avec Ariella Aïsha Azoulay autour de son livre Potential History: Unlearning Imperialism. Jeudi 15 décembre à 18h, l’artiste Mohamed Abdelkarim et la curatrice Salma Mochtari proposeront an infrastructural investigation of a worldly future. Plus d’infos ici.

From November 2022 to February 2023, Qalqalah قلقلة will be a Research affiliate at Tanzquartier in Wien, generating a series of events and workshops entitled Enough History. On Friday November 3rd at 6pm, we will have an online conversation with Ariella Aïsha Azoulay around her last book Potential History: Unlearning Imperialism. On Thursday December 15 at 6pm, artiste Mohamed Abdelkarim and curator Salma Mochtari will propose “an infrastructural investigation of a worldly future.” More info here.

Qalqalah قلقلة poursuit sa résidence au centre d’art BUDA à Courtrai (Belgique). En dialogue avec l’artiste Mounira Al Solh, Line Ajan, Virginie Bobin et Salma Mochtari enquêtent sur la disparition d’institutions artistiques en Europe et dans la région SWANA, sur les récits qu’elles produisent et les futurs qu’elles ont rendu possibles.

Qalqalah قلقلة continues her residency at BUDA arts center in Courtrijk (Belgium). In dialogue with artist Mounira Al Solh, Line Ajan, Virginie Bobin and Salma Mochtari investigate the disappearance of artistic institutions in Europe and SWANA; the stories they produced and the futures they rendered possible.

تواصل قلقلة Qalqalah إقامتها في مركز BUDA للفنون في كورتريك (بلجيكا). في حوار مع الفنانة منيرة الصلح، تبحثن لين عجان وفيرجيني بوبين وسلمى مشتري عن اختفاء المؤسسات الفنية في أوروبا وشمال إفريقيا وجنوب غرب آسيا​​، عن القصص التي أنتجتها و المستقبل الذي اتاحته.

Qalqalah قلقلة est apparue à Florence pour participer au symposium « Connect: Artistic Research Platforms in the Mediterranean » dans le cadre de MANIFESTIAMO, un évènement organisé par la Villa Romana en mai dernier ; à Ahuatempan au Mexique lors de l’événement « El limite de lo propio » organisé par l’artiste Ulises Matamoros Ascención en septembre ; dans les pages de la revue HOOT, éditée par Gufo, dont le numéro 6 (hiver 2021-22) est consacré à Vir Andres Hera ; et celles du quatrième et dernier numéro de la revue Lili, la Rozell et le Marimba publiée par le centre d’art la Criée de Rennes.


Outre leur implication dans Qalqalah قلقلة, voici des nouvelles des membres du collectif éditorial : Victorine devient directrice de Triangle-Astérides à Marseille. Line rejoint le Mudam (Luxembourg) en tant que chargée de recherches curatoriales. Salma initie un nouveau projet de recherche dans le cadre de La Coopérative de recherche de l’Ecole d’art de Clermont métropole. Vir rejoint l’Ecole Supérieure d’Art d’Annecy en tant qu’artiste-enseignant. Montasser travaille sur la conception graphique d’un livre qu’il co-édite avec Léa Morin et Wiame Haddad sur les logements précaires des travailleurs maghrébins issus de l’immigration post-coloniale en France (à paraître début 2023). Virginie et Victorine ont contribué à la traduction collective de « Feminists at Work » de Sara Ahmed, publiée par Panthère Première.

Qalqalah قلقلة recently appeared in Florence to participate in the symposium “Connect: Artistic Research Platforms in the Mediterranean” in the frame of MANIFESTIAMO, an event organized by Villa Romana last May; in Ahuatempan, Mexico, during the event series “El limite de lo propio” convened by artist Ulises Matamoros Ascención; in the pages of HOOT magazine, published by Gufo, which dedicated its 6th issue (winter 2021-22) to Vir Andres Hera; and in the fourth and last issue of Lili, la Rozell et le Marimba, a magazine published by La Criée art center in Rennes.


Beyond their Work for Qalqalah قلقلة, here are news from the members of our editorial collective: Victorine became the director of Triangle-Astérides in Marseille. Line joined the Mudam team in Luxembourg as a Curatorial Fellow. Salma is initiating a new research project at the Coopérative de recherche hosted by the Clermont métropole’s art school. Montasser is working on the graphic design of a book that they are co-editing with Léa Morin and Wiame Haddad, about the precarious housing of Maghrebi workers from the post-colonial immigration in France (forthcoming 2023). Virginie and Victorine contributed to the collective translation of Sara Ahmed’s “Feminists at Work” in French, published by Panthère Première.

ظهرت مؤخرا قلقلة Qalqalah في فلورنسا للمشاركة في ندوة ”تواصل: منصات البحث الفني في البحر الأبيض المتوسط“ في إطار MANIFESTIAMO، وهو حدث نظمته فيلا رومانا في مايو الماضي؛ كما ذهبت قلقلة Qalqalah إلى أهواتامبان بالمكسيك، من خلال سلسلة الأحداث “El limite de lo propio” التي عقدها الفنان Ulises Matamoros Ascención؛ و كانت إيضاً في صفحات مجلة HOOT magazine، التي نشرتها Gufo، والتي خصصت عددها السادس (شتاء 2021-22) لفير أندريس هيرا؛ وفي العدد الرابع والأخير من مجلة Lili, la Rozell et le Marimba التي يصدرها المركز الفني La Criée في رين.

بالإضافة إلى أنشطتهن/م في قلقلة Qalqalah نشارك معكم ببعض الأخبار من أعضاء المجموعة التحريرية: أخذت فيكتورين إدارة Triangle-Astérides في مرسيليا. انضمت لين إلى Mudam (لوكسمبورغ) كباحثة تنظيمية. تبدأ سلمى مشروع بحث جديد في إطار تعاونية البحث لمدرسة الفنون في كليرمون ميتروبول. التحق فير بالمدرسة العليا للفن الحديث بأنسي كفنان مدرس. يعمل منتصر على التصميم الجرافيكي لكتاب شارك في تحريره مع ليا مورين ووئام حداد حول السكن العشوائي للعمال المغربيين الذين هاجروا إلى فرنسا بعد الاستعمار (سيتم نشرالكتاب في أوائل عام 2023). ساهمت فيرجيني وفيكتورين في الترجمة الجماعية لـ ”نسويات في العمل“ لسارة أحمد، نشرته مجلة Panthère Première.
